At 5 I was given the dream of encouraging others thru the power of music. So young and yet I understood the magic music imparted to the human spirit. But darkness has a way of throwing beautiful dreams off track. Thru many ups and downs, I am finally standing up to the darkness! Not in my strength, but HIS!

In 2019 I was invited to a gathering at a friends house to learn more about Make a Wish. I never dreamed the program would touch me so deeply. That night I got to meet some kids who had been given the gift of hope thru the generosity, time, and love Make a Wish gives to children. I got to see first hand the healing power of a wish. That night I prayed “Lord, write thru me.” And Make a Wish was written with in the hour. I was blessed with the opportunity to sing it with Hunter, a wish recipient, as he played on the baby grand piano he had no idea would soon be his. This program truly changes lives!

Sitting in The Musicians Woodshed studio one day came a knock at the door. A young girl who was a student at the Woodshed had been diagnosed with a form of cancer. Big Love Cancer care wanted to put on a fundraiser for her and asked if the Woodshed would host it since she loved music so much. Of course they said yes, and though I didn’t know her I felt led to write a song. I looked into B.I.G. Love Cancer Care, what they stood for, did, and how they came to be. Jessica Phillips founded it after she lost her little girl, Brooke, to a courageous battle with cancer. Inspired by Brookes faith and ability to love others even when she was in so much pain herself is what B.I.G is founded on. Like I do I asked God to write thru me and the words just flowed. With the help of Tony Walsh, the song came alive within hours and we were able to share it at the fundraiser as well as the B.I.G Love gala later that year.

Memorial Day 2018 I had the blessing of meeting Debbie Lee, mother of Marc Lee and founder of America’s Mighty Warriors. Their mission is to honor the sacrifices of our troops and the fallen and their families by providing programs that improve quality of life, resiliency and recovery. Inspired by Marcs last letter home which read in quote, ”So to all my family and friends, do me a favor and pass on the kindness, the love, the precious gift of human life to each other so that when your children come into contact with a great conflict that we are now faced with here in Iraq, that they are people of humanity, of pure motives, of compassion.” and John !5:13 “no greater love than this: to lay down one’s friends.” The song came to be.
